Austin

Austin hires both EMTs and paramedics to fill casual (no scheduled hours), part- and full-time shifts.

Casual EMTs/Paramedics (no scheduled hours): Required to work at least one duty and/or one call shift per 28-day schedule.

Part-time EMTs/Paramedic positions work 24 hours duty and take 24 hours call per week. Shifts are scheduled in 12-hour increments.

Full-time EMTs/Paramedic positions work 42 hrs duty and take 42 hours call per week (36 duty/call first week of pay period and 48 duty/call second week of pay period for an average of 42 hours per week).

Ideally, team members hired for Austin would live within the city limits, as the maximum response time for callback activation is 10 minutes.

Duluth-Superior

Duluth hires paramedics only to fill part-time shifts; these could be a variety of shifts totaling 24 hours duty scheduled per week, no scheduled call. However, part-time team members in Duluth are expected to work up to 48 hours per week in eight-hour increments with greater than 48 hours notice. The most senior part-time team member is offered a full-time position (48 hours duty working two 24-hour shifts per week) when a vacancy occurs.

Full-time paramedic positions are scheduled an average of 42 hours of duty and take 24 hours of call per week. Full-time paramedics are expected to work one shift per week in the Emergency Department, functioning as part of the care team. All of these shifts are scheduled in 12-hour increments.

When on call, response time for callback activation is 10-20 minutes depending upon which call you are signed up for.

Full-time paramedic positions are scheduled for 40, 45 or 48 hours per week. These shifts could be a combination of 8-, 10-, 12-, 16- or 24-hour shifts. Paramedics are required to take 24 hours of call six times per year. Team members must have or willingness to obtain a CDL within 120 days of hire date.

When on call, response time for callback activation is two hours.

St. Cloud Area (serving Litchfield, Little Falls and St. Cloud)

St. Cloud hires EMTs and Paramedics to fill casual (no scheduled hours) and full-time positions.

Casual paramedics (no scheduled hours) are required to work a minimum of one 24-hour duty shift per month. Casual EMT/Paramedics in Little Falls are required to work a minimum of 4 shifts per month.

Full-time paramedics primarily work out of the St. Cloud base with the expectation they rotate shifts between Litchfield, Little Falls and St. Cloud. Full-time Paramedics work 9-, 12-, 16- or 24-hour shifts, with no scheduled call.
