Mayo MedAir can make arrangements to fly worldwide to bring patients to Mayo Clinic campuses in Rochester, Minn., Arizona, Florida and other health care facilities or home. Mayo MedAir has transported patients to Rochester from Chile, France, Greece, Holland, Israel, Italy, Kuwait, Monaco, New Zealand, Oman, Portugal, Venezuela and many other international sites.
Mayo MedAir transports patients who are relatively stable to critically ill or injured. The medical team is selected based on the patient's needs and may include critical-care nurses, paramedics, pediatric and neonatal specialists, physicians, respiratory therapists or other health care professionals who follow Mayo Clinic medical protocols. Generally, a two-person team accompanies the patient.
Mayo Emergency Communications Center specialists will handle all the details of your air medical travel to Mayo Clinic, making arrangements as easy as possible for health care professionals, the patient and family. These certified medical dispatchers can help patients identify a receiving physician when necessary.
U.S. Customs is available at International Airports including Rochester. Once patients arrive at Mayo Clinic, there is access to interpreters representing more than 60 languages.
