Mayo MedAir
How to Request a Flight

Call the Mayo Emergency Communications Center at 800-237-6822 (United States only) or 507-255-2808. Communications specialists can answer your questions about Mayo MedAir and arrange all aspects of your travel, including assistance in coordinating appointments.

Patients, family members or medical professionals can request Mayo MedAir when the patient wants to travel to a distant medical center but would have difficulties traveling by commercial airline or car, or simply for the piece of mind that comes with having Mayo Clinic-trained teams onboard. Whether it's a long distance medical transport, or from a destination close to a Mayo Clinic location, patient transfers can be quickly and easily coordinated by our communications specialists, and can also outline the process to identify a receiving physician, if needed.

Cost

Most insurance plans do not cover air ambulance service, regardless of the provider you may choose. Mayo MedAir will provide a cost estimate when you call and attempt to work with your insurer when appropriate. In most cases, full payment is required at the time of service.
